Notes from the Coach:

Hello everyone, My name is Jason Dunning and I will be coaching the Phillies for the fall baseball season. David Harlan will be the Phillies assistant coach. I have some information I would like to pass on from the coaches meeting yesterday that will get our team ready for our first game. • Even though there are two of us, we will probably need as many volunteers as possible at practice and the games. This is my first season as a baseball coach, but based on the conversation with the commissioner at yesterday’s meeting, at this age it will be controlled chaos and the more parents we have the better. • Baseball shirts and hats will be provided, but we need to order gray pants, belts, and socks. Our team color will be red, so I thought we would do red belts and socks. I would like our team to look uniform and therefore I think we need to all order the same pants, belts, and socks. Therefore, I can either provide you a website where you can purchase these items, or I can just order everything and you can pay me for them when you pick them up. I will let you know soon what is decided. • Practice will be at Glen Oaks fields every Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The address is 6350 Glen Oaks Drive McKinney, Texas and the first practice is this Thursday. • Helmets and a tee have been provided, but if you would like to bring your own helmet or bats please feel free to do so. Please make sure you buy a T-Ball bat if you buy a bat, and if the child can hold his arm straight and level then the bat should be a good fit. • The pitching will all be overhand and we will use T-Ball baseballs only. • We will discuss snacks schedules at the first practice. I check my emails M-F only, so if you need to reach me over the weekends please use my cell phone - which I can't provide on this site, see above notes. My number will be on the email sent to you 8/26/10.
