Player Draft to follow immediately after at the field (weather permitting). All Coaches in the Minors, Majors, and Intermediate Divisions will need to make plans to attend these players’ evaluations because observations made will be helpful when drafting players to fill their rosters. Warm ups February 18th will begin at 2pm with evaluations starting at 2:30pm and should be finished by 4:00pm. A player draft involving all applicable coaches will follow immediately after the tryouts. We also have a bad weather in-door plan in place. If weather does not permit outdoor evaluations then the evaluations will take place at 3:00pm at Michael Johnson Performance center (MJP). Any changes regarding times and location will be posted on the website and sent via e-mail.
February 25th Big Al’s Coaches Clinic: This is a FREE Clinic for all Coaches volunteering in McKinney Little League Baseball. Parents are also welcome to attend this clinic. You do not need to pre-register as McKinney Little League has already registered and paid for this clinic. Just sign in when you arrive. Big Al covers ideas for drills, practice planning, and a lot more issues related to the bigger picture of how coaches can positively influence their players. Most of the coaches last year gave us feedback that this an absolute must attend for all coaches because of the huge impact that Big Al had on them. The clinic location will be hosted by Arlington SW Little League and TX District 7 and will take place at Martin High School, 4501 West Pleasant Ridge Rd. Arlington, TX 76016. The Clinic is split into two separate sessions: Coaches of players aged 9-13 years of age, the clinic times are 8:15am to 12:30pm, on Saturday, and coaches of players aged 5-8, the clinic times are 12:45pm to 4:00pm. Coaches and parents are welcome to attend both of the Saturday clinics or just the age division for their applicable team.
Practice Field Reservations start - TBD: Coaches will be able to start practicing using their specific practice time and field selected by them at the coaches meeting.
